Striking: Imposing (s. Eebert)

Last weekend, four restored carriages from De Haar Castle were presented. Among them was a reunion with Imposant (by Eebert) who was hitched to a more than 100-year-old Napoleon Phaeton. Imposant, born in 2013, was bred by Niek Augustinus from Ommeren out of the mare Destiny's-Lein (by Uromast). His grandmother, Kidolein Keur Preferent (by Cambridge Cole), also produced the Grand Prix horse Celebration (by Manno), who won many championship ribbons in multiple horse hitches for Stal Haarsma. Imposant was also presented by Stal Haarsma and was a teammate of Celebration. As a two-year-old, Imposant was in the hands of Zilfia's Hoeven and Anemone Horsetrucks. He placed second in the two-year-old stallion class at the National Tuigpaarden Day. In the stallion selection process, Imposant only made it to the second viewing. However, he won the championship for three-year-old tuigpaarden in the Egbert Emmink Cup under the guidance of Kees van der Maat. After that, Imposant was shown in the national competition by Harry van Middelaar before Stal Haarsma became the owner. In 2018, Imposant was the champion in the four-horse hitch competition together with Celebration, Zavanno (by Manno), and Elburg (by Morocco Field Marshall). The following year, he won another championship with Elburg and Jidaperty (by Eebert) in the pair horse hitch category. Since the beginning of this year, Imposant is owned by Melissa van den Heuvel and Reinier Brummelkamp from Breukelen and is also a teammate of another former competition horse, Alfredo (by Manno). Imposant ended his competition career with 40 single-horse hitch wins.
